I was not familiar with this issue, but checked a few reputable science sites via Google, and it looks to me as if the problem of alcohol reducing the metabolization of Vitamin B1 (and maybe B-complex vitamins in general) is only an issue for those who consume far too much. As long as you're a moderate drinker, it does not seem to be a concern at all.
Caveat: If your doctor tells you that you are low on B-vitamins, then I'm sure alcohol would be something to talk about this. But honestly, I've never heard of anyone having this problem.
