WTN: Casa de Campo Viognier 2004

by Bruce Hayes » Sun Jul 09, 2006 1:35 pm

Cuyo Valley, Argentina. From Bodegas Santa Ana.

Perfume and peach on the nose.

Oily mouth feel, peaches, pears, good acidity, refreshing, spicy, with that distinctive (at least to me) Viognier edge-tang.

Grapefruit rind on the mouthwatering finish.

Hi Bruce,
Posted a note on a couple of Chilean viogniers elsewhere. Seems the variety is taking off in South America. How would you say your Argentine viognier compared to a Torrontes, assuming you've tasted a Torrontes, of course.
Cheers,
Sue
