WTN: Haras Elegance Cabernet Sauvignon 2001

This cabernet comes from Maipo Valley, Chile. (alcohol 14%)

Colour: very dark red, nearly brown
Nose: tobacco, chocolate, rosted wood
Taste: Full bodied, massive tannins, amazing lenght.

Must be decanted.
Price 35$

Absolutely fabulous wine.

Is that the new upscale winery that has a horse and jockey on the label? You choose an upper-end wine for sure!!

BTW here is an interesting overview of Chile from a Canadian writer!!

Yes this winery has a horse on the label, but it's not so new-it was founded already in 1991.
It's nearly upper-end wine, but the flagship of this winery is certainly wine called Albis (blend of cabernet and carmenere), result of the cooperation between Piero Antinori and Eduardo Matte.
