Some Bandol chais off the beaten track!!

by Bob Parsons Alberta » Mon Oct 02, 2006 9:20 pm

Here are some Bandol names to look out for.

Domaine Sorin.
Chateau Vannieres.
Domaine La Suffrane.
Domaine de l`Olivette.
Domaine Lafran Veyrolles.
Domaine Reche-Redonne.
Domaine de la Tour de Bon.

I was fortunate to come across some of these wines years ago at the now-defunct La Vigneronne in London.

Bob:
Many thanks for some options to the usual suspects (Pradeaux, Tempier, Pibarnon, etc.)! I take it that your experience with these was favorable. Would you expect them to offer some decent level of QPR given the prices of the three noted above?

The only wine I have found over here is the Sorin. I think I paid around $34 Cdn for the entry level Bandol. I do have some Cote de Provence which are a tad lighter on the wallet. Perhaps a visit to wine searcher.com might enlighten!!?

OK, I just checked...some show up on the east coast.
