Jakov, Hi,,,,

Following are my tasting notes for both the 2005 and 2006 vintages of the wine in question.

Best
Rogov

Tulip, Syrah, Reserve, 2006: Dark garnet with orange and violet reflections, this full-bodied red is lithe and well focused. Opens with a surprising but pleasing root beer note which holds through the long finish as a background to plum, blackberry and leathery notes. Well balanced, long and generous. Drink now–2011. Score 88.

Tulip, Syrah, Reserve, 2005: Blended with 10% of Cabernet Sauvignon and oak-aged for 14 months, this medium to full-bodied wine shows soft, near-sweet tannins integrating beautifully Fine balance here between spicy wood, black and red berries, plums and a generous hint of bitter sweet chocolate. On the long finish light and appealing hints of earthi-ness and tobacco. Drink now–2010. Score 90.

Rogov hi,

your TN for Tulip Syrah Reserve 2006 published on the old forum (see http://stratsplace.zeroforum.com/zerothread?id=16426) coincides verbally with the above one. The only difference is that the score in the previous TN is 90, and now it is lowered to 90. Could it be a misprint?

Thanks,

Alek.

Not a misprint. The score shifted a bit at a re-tasting.
