Several people have asked by private messages for tasting notes for two of the recently released wines in the Estate series of Tishbi Winery. Today's tasting and re-tasting notes follow.
Best
Rogov
Tishbi, Pinot Noir, Estate, 2006: My earlier tasting note holds firmly. Light- to medium-bodied, with a somewhat muddy garnet color, showing for too much volatile acidity and, on the nose and palate forward red berry and strawberry fruits, the kind that one expects from a red lollypop. Drink up. Score 80. K (Re-tasted 30 Aug 2008)
Tishbi, Shiraz, Estate, 2006: Dark garnet in color, medium- to full-bodied, opening with a whiff of alcohol that lingers uncomfortably on both nose and palate through the wine and hides the black fruits that struggle to make themselves felt. Drink now. Score 82. (Tasted 30 Aug 2008)
