I've tasted the Barkan Superieur Pinotage on quite a few occasions (most recently about 5 months ago). Not, however the South African wine.
Barkan, Pinotage, Superieur, 2002: Full-bodied, with sur-ripe blackberry, black cherry and currant fruits, those backed up nicely by moderately firm tannins and generous spicy, meaty and herbal aromas and flavors. Deep, round and long. Starting to show age. Drink up. Score 90. K
Drank both last night. Rose garden was fantastic at first and died in the glass a bit later on.Maybe because it was mevushal it went flat but honestly first few glasses unbelievably good. Barkan was very good and mature but I agree drink up. Not sorry about the experience at all.
