TN: Segal Rechasim Dovev Argaman 2008

My first ever tasting of this wine made from the Israeli born Argaman variety developed in the 1990's and turning out being a nice surprise indeed.

Segal Rechasim Dovev Argaman 2008: Dark, almost impenetrable purple, a nose packed with ripe almost jammy dark fruit, full-bodied and concentrated with on the palate blackberries, black currants and black cherries, hints of raisiny notes but nice acidity in good balance with the Mediterranean herbs (rosemary) as well as black pepper and vanilla rising on a long and tannic finish.

Some heat at first sip but then settling down a bit after 5-10 min or so in the glass. Very pleasant but I'm a bit disappointed as I could have easily mistaken it with a Cabernet Sauvignon so not that interesting IMHO on the oenology side.

Any TNs for this wine, folks?

Best,

GG
