Livni Shani

by Gedalya P » Tue Jul 31, 2012 1:42 pm

I just received my first bottles of Livni Shani 2010. It's a blend of 80% Shiraz and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. I'm planning on tasting it next week. Has anyone else had it yet?

Hi Gedalya,

Haven't tasted yet but thanks for the heads-up, I didn't know Livni were also growing Shiraz, please keep us posted once you'll have tasted it!

Best,

Livni Shani 2010 is their first Shiraz, with 20% Cabernet added. The grapes were grown in high elevation south of Hevron. It is aged in oak for 18 months and shows the classic flavors of Shiraz with vanilla from the oak. It is a wonderful addition to the Livni line and should age well. It is expensive, however, at 125 shekels.
