Business Traveller "Cellars in the Sky Awards, 2013"

El AL did surprisingly well in the annual Business Traveller "Cellars in the Sky Awards" for 2013, published in the March 2014 edition.

In the "Best First Class White" category EL AL were awarded a bronze medal for Yarden Viognier 2011.
EL AL were also awarded a bronze medal for "Best overall wine cellar".

However, in the "Best First Class Fortified/Dessert" category they won a gold medal for Yarden Heightswine 2011.

What was really interesting were the judges comments:

"Unusual aromas, but the palate is seriously sweet and rather scrumptious, with notes of raisin. Extraordinary, lush, and complex. Unbelievably delicious, beautifully balanced, very appropriate for first class." Score: 97

Judges were Charles Metcalfe, co-chairman of the International Wine Challenge and food and wine matching guru
Peter McCombie, Master of Wine and top restaurant wine consultant
Robert Joseph, author and wine critic
Richard Bampfield, Master of Wine and wine consultant

(all the descriptions are as given in the magazine).
