Interesting how what we say can be heard louder and more lasting by what we do.
Have a good one; H

Hi, Harry, shavu'a tov,

Hmmm … Gabe is usually here before I show up.

Friday night, with friends: 2011 Vignobles David CDR. Just fine, as always.
Shabbat lunch at home: 2005 Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon. Oh, so nice.

A good week to all,

Isaac

Hi Harry shavua tov,

Been busy so a little bit "late" thsi week...

Friday night:

Carmel, Sumaka Vineyard, Cabernet Sauvignon 2010: So this is the new wine of Carmel's single vineyard series, replacing the Kayumi Cabernet Sauvignon for the 2010 vintage. It remains unclear whether this wine will be continued or not, and whether the Kayumi will be back with the 2011 vintage. Anyway, this is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Carmel's Sumaka vineyard in the northern part of the Golan Heights, it is my understanding that Carmel won't release a 2010 Limited Edition and that this vineyards usually provides the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in the flagship blend. The wine was aged for 16 months in french oak barrels. Deep purple in color with on the nose ripe wildberries, roasted herbs, wet earth and a hint of smokiness. Full-bodied with fine concentration, with on the palate blackberries and ripe cassis followed by black plums, pipe tobacco, smoky wood and roasted herbs, great balanced acid with vanilla and chili-flavored chocolate lingering as well as soft, round tannins on the long finish. I liked this wine very much, it reminded me a bit of the 2010 Flam Reserve albeit with a weaker structure and a bit less complex. 14.5% Abv.

Shabbat lunch:

GMW, Galil, Yiron Vineyard, Sauvignon Blanc 2013: Another white winner for the 2013 vintage! Very pale straw in color with on the nose melon, lime, freshly cut grass and orange blossom. Light to medium in body with on the palate kiwi, lemon zest, fresh melon, lemongrass and grapefruit with great refreshing acidtiy with salty stoney minerals and a hint of nectarines and orange blossom water on the moderate finish. This wine is beautifully balanced with great aromatics, IMHO one of the 3 best israeli Sauvignon Blanc out there. 12% Abv.

Best,

GG

Well, there is 2013 Yarden SB. Which is the third one you had in mind?

The 2013 Tabor Adama Sauvignon Blanc. But keep in mind that there are quite a few that I've note tasted yet. I will taste for the first time the new 2013 Carmel Vineyards SB this coming Thursday as well as the 2009 The Cave, will report back.

Hi; went away and brought a Beitel carignan which wasn't opened;what was was Carmel appellation 07 of the same varietal. It still showed the flavors but no where near the power of the other. By day a barkan shiraz '12 that was simple yet totaly drinkable. H

Dinner with friends, drinking what they had to offer. Company was great, wines just ok.

Tishbi 2012 cabernet
Mony Sunnyhills 2010 merlot.

Not a lot worth mentioning; drinkable.

Hi Harry,

Enjoyed the 2012 Beit-El Carignan, just be careful when pouring because its throwing a bit of sediment.
