It's been quite some time since a bottle of wine grabbed my attention, and I'm glad that the Vitkin Gewurtztraminer 2016 did just that. Without being pretentious, the wine is both homely and classy. Its flavors make it very accessible, providing honeyed apricot, coupled with spice, and rounded out with a bitter note of citrus, reminiscent of red grapefruit. There is ample body, and an allusion of sweetness. All in all, it's very well balanced and harmonious.
In addition, I had some leftovers of the Tzora Judean Hills 2012. Contemplating it for a second time, increases my opinion of it as wine that has robust flavors and a substantial body that would compliment nicely a hefty cut of meat, even if it's flavors aren't all that distinct.
Best,
Pinchas
