The Shirah Coalition 2015 brings together Petit Verdot (38%), Charbono (28%), Tempranillo (20%) and Aglianico (15%) in a harmonious marriage. Like the bassoon, it has a distinctive texture, filling out the mid to low range of the palate with a broad sweep of flavor. Their isn't much acid to deliver crispness and clarity into the upper range. Nonetheless, its texture and tone are distinctive, adding color to the range of wines from which one can choose. The Matar Petit Verdot 2016, on the other hand, provides great depth of flavor, backed by gripping tannins and framed well by wood that keeps it suspended in great focus. Although, predominantly of a single variety, it ranges over a large array of flavor; fruit, cigar and earthiness. Finally, the Don Ernesto Collage 2015 from Hagafen, delivers bitter toasty almond on a background of green melons and assorted other rich summer fruit, making for a food friendly wine made of Rousanne and Marsanne.

Best Regards,
Pinchas
