WTN: Bar, bar, bar, bar, bar, Barbaresco

  After getting my palate pummeled by a 2013 Produttori Riserva last night I decided to switch it up to the regular Barbaresco from a less “aggressive” vintage. This is so much more inviting, even if it isn’t completely ready. The structural elements lean more towards acid rather than rough tannins, with properly balancing red fruit, as well as deep meaty tones and soaring florals. It’s pretty much classic, just not a monument, and that is totally OK.

Thanks for the note - I have a half case of this slumbering in the cellar. Also a half case of 99 in mags - opened one a couple of years ago and it still needed time!

'99 is a strong vintage. Add in the magnum format, and I am not surprised.
