1999 Willi Schaefer Graacher Domprobst Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer, Mosel (8/8/2007)
Ap#14 for those scoring at home.

Penetrating, saline, citric and apple aromas. Not the most acidic Riesling in history (it is after all a '99) but impeccably balanced with ripe red apple and mineral, and a touch of finishing bitterness that is cleansing. This is still very primary, which is surprising for an 8 year old spatlese from a "low acid" vintage.

Typically delicious wine from Willi Schaefer.

Opened in the hope it would improve a foul mood. It did - after two sips.
