WTN: Earth, Zin & Fire 2005 Lodi Zinfandel

by Robert Reynolds » Tue Aug 28, 2007 11:09 pm

I opened this bottle two evenings ago, and immediately noted the deep maroon color in the glass, and the fruity aroma. Took a sip and  I think I understand the phrase "fruit bomb" now! Very strong ripe blackberry and cherry flavors, with a chocolate undertone which lingered on my tongue. I like! :D

Funny though, my wife took a sip and said it was way too dry and tart for her. Think we have major differences as to tastes.

Lodi's such a hot climate, fruit bombs are unavoidable. Bet the alcohol was pretty high on that puppy, too.

alcohol 14.8%. But it wasn't obvious at all. Anyway, it appealed to me more than most lately.
