Bill, I wish I had seen this sooner. One thing I like to do when I head up to Napa is to go to St. Helena and purchase some sausage and cheese at the Napa Valley Olive Oil Company and then some fresh bread from the Model Bakery. I take my wares and a drop which I've probably purchased at some winery and head off to the Bale Grist Mill
for a picnic and to watch the mill turn. It's a couple of miles north of St. Helena. And then if you still are feeling your inner tourist, you can drive up past Calistoga to the Petrified Forest
. It's no great shakes, but it's somewhere to take a nice walk.
