Other than wine, what to see in Napa Valley ?

%^)

My brother and his wife are visiting the Napa Valley for two or three days the first part of June ... they are mostly red wine drinkers and having lived at one time in Australia a stone's throw from the Barossa Valley tend to like the Aussie style of wine-making ... anyway ... he asked me to ask my wine friends not necessarily what wineries they should visit but what they should NOT miss SEEING in the Napa Valley area ...

Your recommendations would be appreciated ...

Hmmm. I've been to Napa a lot, but it's almost always been wine-oriented.

Bothe-Napa State Park is a nice place for a hike if it's not too hot. Mt. St. Helena can also make for a good hike, but generally not in the summer.

Copia is a fun place to check out. They always have interesting stuff going on. If nothing else, it will be worth a look at their website to see if there's anything of particular interest to your brother.

This is a good question, though. I'll be interested to see what the locals come up with.

Bill, I wish I had seen this sooner. One thing I like to do when I head up to Napa is to go to St. Helena and purchase some sausage and cheese at the Napa Valley Olive Oil Company and then some fresh bread from the Model Bakery. I take my wares and a drop which I've probably purchased at some winery and head off to the Bale Grist Mill for a picnic and to watch the mill turn. It's a couple of miles north of St. Helena. And then if you still are feeling your inner tourist, you can drive up past Calistoga to the Petrified Forest. It's no great shakes, but it's somewhere to take a nice walk.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner, but maybe it'll help for the next time.
