2006 Lions Ridge Unoaked Chardonnay Monterey California. Beekmans, Glen Rock; $15.99.

Pale yellow color, clear hue, restrained aromas of apples, melons and pears, very good tastes of tropical fruits with just a hint of spice, crisp acidity, quite a long finish with good fruit notes. No oak; it's finished in stainless steel. Not ageworthy, but a very nice wine for someone like me who likes the taste of Chardonnay without the oakiness. No EGA. 3*+
