Tasted at Back Room Wines in Napa.

Very nice. Not the explosion of peach of the Rosemblum-this is more restrained and drier (very little RS here) , with white peach, citrus, and quite a bit of nice minerality. Good acidity. Alcohol was very restrained on the palette-this wine didn't taste hot at all. For $18, not a bad quaff!

Don't know if you tasted or liked their SB, but got an ad tonight from Pops for it for $193.41 a box. This is about $50 off list.

Why would it taste hot??? That's an odd adjective to use to say what the wine is not. Seth Kunin doesn't make disjointed, overbearing wines.

Bernard: The only reason I said it's "not hot" is because I've had quite a few California Viogniers that ARE quite hot. So it's more like a comment to myself "See. Viognier can be refreshing!" :)
