I've waited on this bottle for quite a few years and my patience has paid off. Color is a pale red with an orange undercoat. More advanced than I expected but the cork showed signs of some small leakage. Nose was warm and round right from the start. I opened it an hour before dinner--as is my wont--but I'm not sure it necessary. This wine is already in the zone. Seamless and rounded; with a full mouthfeel; and good balance, at least for me as I prefer stout acids to stand up to dinner, and ending with an attention grabbing finish with a lot of spicy tang.

If you are oak-aversive you might want to stay away, but you are looking for a CA Pinot that isn't a fruit bomb or a Syrah wannabe this is a good place to start. (90 pts.)
