WTN: Château de Gourgazaud "Cuvee Mathilde" 2004

Minervois. A blend of Syrah and Mourvedre.

A lovely "stinky" nose: leather and rich barnyard smells. I mentioned my stinky nose description to a friend and he thought it was quite odd. I like it and I think it works as a descriptor.

Rich raspberry and cherry fruit, earthy, good acidity, with a mild bitter streak providing an extra little bite.

Tart finish.

Purchased at $12.95 (Canadian).
