WTN: 2004 Valdubon Cosecha (Ribera del Duero)

Deep ruby with a hint of garnet creeping in. Aromas of blueberry, sweet spice, tobacco and coffee. Low acidity, med-high tannins, it wasn't nearly as sweet/syrupy as I had expected from the nose. Black fruit and a pretty long finish, I think this would go really nicely with beef or game, although it was actually just fine with some leftover biryani. 13.5%, I would buy this again at $12.

Tempranillo wines almost never are "sweet/syrupy".
