WTN: Winds(buhl) of Amour(euses)

Continuing to open some really interesting bottles with my folks over the holidays.

1998 Zind-Humbrecht Clos Windsbuhl Gewurztraminer
Ready to drink if not fully mature, this is developing significant brown sugar and caramel nuances to go along with pineapple and lychee. The sweetness that it had on release has backed off, and there's some cleansing bitterness on the finish. Seems like prime time for this wine (89 pts.)

1999 Robert Groffier Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses
Initially rather funky and a bit spritzy on opening, it calmed down in the glass and showed off deeply earthy red and black fruit, some vanilla and a long, long finish of red cherry and fertile earth. Delicious. (92 pts.)

Finished off the 2006 Donnhoff Kirschheck Spatlese as well, and it was signing after 24 hours of air.
