Touriga Franca, Tinto Roriz, Tinta Borroca. 13.5% abv
$12 at Enoteca Wine Bar in Sonoma.

Dark purple red in color. Somewhat reticent nose. Light, lovely mouth feel without even a hint of heat. Like a lighter Pinot in texture? Some black fruit, prominent leather, with a strong and intriguing bitter hebal note. Somewhat short finish. I found this wine interesting enough to take a bottle home. Not profound, but far more intriguing than, say, Sterline Napa Valley or a Castle Rock Pinot (similar price range). The Mediterranean is the place to go for cheaper reds! 15/20
