Pol Roger, my last wine of `07!!

Happy New Year to everyone on this first day of 2008. Right now on TV, great hockey there in Buffalo, 75,00 in the open air stands!

We all had a busy sometimes chaotic night at the Grill, 340 dinners between 5pm and midnight but a successful fixed price menu. One of the waitresses brought in a bottle of NV Pol Roger White Foil which was opened as midnight approached. Lime, yeasty biscuit nose, palate showed highish acidity, tart fruit, green apples. Guzzled pretty fast, it was the thought that counts. I took in the `05 Villa Maria Gewurztraminer which was shared by some of the kitchen staff. Much better than the Spumante Bambino that was being passed around!!
