WTN: Chateau Laurou Tradition 2005

AC Fronton.
A blend of Négrette, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Fairly dark red in the glass.

Very astringent nose.

Light bodied, tarry, roasted, drying, astringent and lightly tannic, dustry, slightly smoky, no discernable fruit. The wine didn't stand up very well to food, becoming even more thin and tart.

Drying and tannic on the finish.

A disappointing wine overall, even though it received fairly positive reviews from a few local wine writers. Perhaps it needs more time? I think I will leave the other bottles in the cellar for a while before trying the next one.

Purchased at $13.85 (Canadian).
