Opened to pair with grilled burgers...

Still a dark red to purple color. Aromatically complex and diverse. It smells of old world syrah and new world syrah at the same time. There's dark red fruit and also saddle leather, warm earth and herbs. There's an upfront richness to the texture, and back end structure that frames the whole presentation. There's still lots of fruit here, mid-palate earth and leather flavors and enough tannin to maintain the lovely balance for some time to come. While this syrah is drinking very well now there's no reason to rush to consume other bottles. This is fantastic wine, especially considering the sub-$20 price tag.
