Spinifex Cigale 2004

Deep deep glowing red purple in colour, this is a young and exuberant red wine in all respects, the colour, the aromatic nose, the lush and elegant palate all combine into a terrific wine experience.

The nose is all concentrated berries ... blackberries, dark berries, plums, raspberries and more all mingle in with exotic spices, hints of earth, pepper and chocolate. The palate is super juicy, loaded with jubey accented fruits, hints of cassis, plums and dark raspberries, again complexed with earthy spices and pepper.

The wine is layered, already gaining complexity with fine tannins on a long and balanced finish. Delicious stuff, and absolutely the finest value for money! Great wine, in a style that should be made more often, (unoaked, or virtually unoaked) especially if its a good as this one! The auswine panel

I've yet to taste a wine from Pete Schell that hasn't impressed.
Best wishes

Sounds delish. May I ask where it's from and what grapes?

Sure

From the Barossa Valley

and

Grenache, Shiraz Mourvedre.

It is virtually unoaked (a few months in old oak) and all the better for it.

Lovely stuff.

It would be exported to the US, albeit in tiny quantities I imagine.
