Wine and astronomy -- a clear connection in this case.

by Bob Ross » Mon Jul 24, 2006 2:33 pm

Normally I would post astronomy pictures that tickle my fancy down below in Friends and Fun, but NSA's current picture fits the wine theme, as well as showing a common but seldom noticed phenomena.

Bob,
Expect a scathing excoriation from Dubya now that you've leaked the ultra-hush-hush Interstellar Surveillance Program. I hope that you're prepared to defend yourself in court!

You know, Mark, for an unrepentant Liberal like me, I worried just a bit about being identified in any way with the erotic nature and the pinkish color of the Belt of Venus ... but now you've added a real element of terror!

I'll sleep much better tonight. Thanks.

Bob,
I sent this picture to a wine geek and astronomy geek friend of mine. He appreciated it very much. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
Cheers!

Interesting...they used this same picture about three years ago. I downloaded it then to use as wallpaper on my PC.

Same text too David: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap031021.html

Wonder if that's a mistake or a change in policy of some sort. Hard to believe they can't find fantastic pictures to post.

Good catch!
