0 for 2. If I strike out Monday, I might say it's a sign from G*d. I'll use 4 of the bottles for a dinner at Afghan Kebab, I'll pay for dinner, get 3 guys to make another donation.

I'll look forward to hearing from Mark Roth. We may get snow this Saturday. Getting the bottles to UPS or Fedex may have to wait a few days.

Jane,
I don't believe there's any hurry for any of these, as long as donors and winners get in touch. That's a heckuva nice prize, I'll be interested in what he chooses!

I got excited thinking I had won a prize from Edmunds St. John but I was looking at the drop in the market quote which ended in .65, not the final quote which ended in another decimal number.

Okay, I'm going to renege on my previous promise to not accept a prize if I won. Kinda. There were two wines on the list I can't buy here - Howie's and Steves (I cant locate any ESJs despite Steve giving me the name of his distributor up here a while back).

Those were the prizes I'd been hoping for.

But, although I'm going to accept the prize I'm going to contribute the retail value of the wine to my charity.

Today will be the final drawing (at least with me running it!)
DJIA: Bottle of Tobin James Dusi Zin (Carl)
S&P: 4 bottles of Bordeaux from 4 decades (DW)
Nasdaq: case of ESJ Bone Jolly (Steve Edmunds)

Hopefully we have 3 winners, If there are no winners for Carl or Steve's lots and they wish to continue, I'll let them do so. If there is no winner for my prize, I'm switching gears and offering several of those bottles as centerpiece for a charity dinner, where an additional donation gets 3 or 4 NYC geeks some mature Bdx and Afghan kebabs.

Previous winners:
Larry Young won 3 bottles of 97 Ridge, courtesy of David Bueker
Jacque Jennett,4 bottles of Tobin James, from Michael K
Jon Peterson, a bottle of 05ESJ Wylie-Fenaughty, from Robin Garr
Alan Wolfe, 3 bottles of 2001 Napa Cab, from Ramon Cabrera
Ron Vincent, 2 bottles of Brunello, from Pat Carey.
Steve Chu 2 bottles of Rocca Family Vineyards from Mary Rocca
Mark Roth 3 bottles from a large selection offered by Jane (JC)
Sam Platt 6 bottles of Hart Cellars wine from Howie Hart
Chef Carey - mag of 95 ESJ Durrell courtesy of Steve Edmunds

If anyone has any problems connecting with their donor or winner, let me know.

Thanks again to everyone. We raised $6K not counting about 10-12 people who chose to make their amounts private. Hopefully everyone had fun. Jenise and Robin, I think we can let the sticky slide, and this thread can gracefully sail off into the sunset. I wish I could promise there would never be a need for another of these, but life has these tragedies. I am grateful to be part of a community that responds so well.

Again, Dale, thanks to you for your inspiration to do this. $6K-plus may be a drop in the overall bucket, but it's a significant statement from this community, and I think we can all give ourselves a round of applause.

Many thanks, Dale, not only for initiating this event, but also for coordinating it so well and so efficiently. Many thanks also to all those who donated money to any of those worthy organizations in this time of tragedy for Haiti. Good luck to all in these final drawings!

OK, we have 3 winners!

DJIA: Bottle of Tobin James Dusi Zin (Carl)
10,185.53
Carl's bottle goes to the very lucky Mark Roth, a double winner!

S&P: 4 bottles of Bordeaux from 4 decades (DW)
1,089.18
Hey, my prize goes to Jersey City's own Jay "Fruitisnotnecessarilyaflaw/Pointless/Good" Miller! Good, I can drop off rather than ship (somehow I think that the chances of Jay choosing the 1988 Bon Pasteur are slim!

Nasdaq: case of ESJ Bone Jolly (Steve Edmunds)
2,171.20
Steve, you're right, the good chemist is the winner of the Bone Jolly! Congrats to  Mark Lipton.

Thanks once again to all who participated, both as prize donors and donors to Haiti.
