Here is a demi-sec Vouvray from a not so well-known producer, think I have posted on an excellent brut in the past.

WTN: 2009 Vouvray Chai du Grand Vaudasniere, Jean-Pierre Perault.

Cellared for 2 yrs, $22 Cdn, 12% alc. Lot# 09DS.

Color is a light lemon yellow, peach and nectarine on the nose, pineapple, no wet wool here folks.
Pleasure to drink, sweet, plenty of tropical fruit, ripe, minerals, good balance. Nice acidity but masked by sweetness, mouthfilling, honeysuckle on day 2, great with lightly spiced shrimp and sausage gumbo.

I can probably count the number of Chenins I have tasted on the figners of one hand..and might have a finger or 2 left over..That being said, time for a plug for a Chenin from here on the right coast..down on Long Island, Charles Massoud of Paumonock and his son make a very tasty Chenin..Was recommended to me by a number of folk on that other board..I tried it, I liked it, I bought it and continue to buy it...

As far as I can tell, not a lot, Bob..I believe that Paumonock is the only CB'er on Long Island..and perhaps in all of NY state..There was talk of a winery in Connecticut, not far from the Long Island Sound, making a CB but I have no info in that regard..Youngest daughter lives in Pa so we are just beginning to look at some wines from Pa and New Jersey but don't recall seeing any Chenins.
