OK...how is Viognier pronounced?

The "gn" in "viognier" is pronounced like the "gn" in "lasagne."

I would suggest then"vee-oh-nyay," whereby I would pronounce the "n" with my tongue against the palate, i.e. palatalize it.

You don't know how many times I've been corrected [even though I pronounced it like you say] every time I recommend this wine to friends and aquaintances.

I even got "corrected" by my wine server at a restaurant. Apparently, I was right.

TBH, I don't remember.

But I do remember he corrected my pronounciation.
