Winery Visit-Clos Du Val

by Brian K Miller » Mon Oct 22, 2012 12:53 pm

It's the crazy season now in Napa, so the place was an absolute zoo (even Corison, which is somehow still off the beaten path, was off the hook bsy Saturday), but I have to give kudos to a classic/stalwart winery, Clos Du Val.

Highlights: The 2008 Stags Leap Cabernet was lean, juicy, and old school in character. I really enjoy this style of cabernet. The Pinot (From Carneros) was also pretty classic...earthy, mushroom, forest floor, but plenty of fruit and acidity.

Really good stuff!
