2010 Robert Stemmler Carneros Napa Pinot Noir consumed last nite with pork loin crusted with coriander. This Pinot Noir was very dark purple/black with 14.4 abv but not at all volatile with smokey red raspberry nose and tasted of red raspberries and a touch of mulberry. Very well balanced with great acidity , it probably could have benefited from being decanted a few hours to bring out more nuances but was just poped and poured. I'll drink my remaining 3 bottles over the next couple of years.

Stemmler's still around, huh? I remember visiting the winery eons ago, and learning that Stemmler was a pioneer of sorts with pinot noir--making pinots in the old, old days when everybody else was growing zinfandel and cabernet. The winery might belong to someone else now, of course. Any idea?
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
