Happy Thanksgiving to all.

I hope you have a great holiday, have safe travels and have some US wines. I'm sure a few Ridge Zins will be opened at my house.

We'll be at a friend's place for supper. Don't know what wines we'll be bringing yet.

Happy T-day back atcha, Tom, and to all the rest of you as well.

I'm going to a friend's for Thanksgiving Dinner. I can't remember the last time I didn't cook dinner. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Folks are here. Salil is coming over. I wonder if we will drink any wine.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Bird Day to all!

I will have two TG dinners: Thursday, at my brother's house (his bird, my wine), and Saturday, at my house (my bird, my cider). I'd like to say that I'm having that really old-fashioned spirit but the truth is that one guest has trouble processing alcohol so a lower-proofage beverage is needed.

Thanksgiving always seems to me like such a great idea for a holiday. Happy Thanksgiving, all of you who celebrate it.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. We'll be just two tomorrow as the rest of the family is all over the country and doing their own thing. Smoking a turkey and drinking some wines of course.

Just picked up the turkey, 14 lbs. for 14 people. I'm always excited to see one with unabashedly black feathers! We are doing a plurality of the cooking.

Let's move this into the main forum so all the forumites who don't regularly join in the frivolity in Friends & Fun can join the greetings. Happy Thanksgiving to all! And even to those in other countries who don't celebrate a national holiday at this time, a very happy harvest time in the North, and a time to be grateful for the many good things we all have in our lives that go beyond food and drink to family, friends and the world we live in.

Good idea, Robin! Happy Thanksgiving to all you who celebrate it tomorrow (giving a nod to our neighbors to the North). We're staying home for once and cooking a goose. Sorry, Tom, but the wine lineup will be entirely French: Bordeaux, Burgundy and S Rhone.

2008 Tobin James, Fatboy, Zinfandel. This has become our go to wine for Thanksgiving. We served the best wine first as opposed to Cana! It was back up with a 2010 Cline California Zinfandel. The Fatboy seemed even better than ever. Just a bunch of luscious fruit; what more could a person want. As usual we smoked a turkey (18 lbs this time, for six hours). All the rest of trimmings and gravy demanded a big red as usual.

We had 30+ people here (actually a smaller than usual crowd). Too many wines to name although the Warsteiner Octoberfest beer seemed a big hit. The Gaudrelle Loire sparkler was a hit too! My wife's family are Mayflower descendants so this is a big holiday for them. I was just thankful the Redskins whipped the Cowboys!

I had some good wines planned for Thanksgiving but my plan went awry. We went to visit some friends on Wednesday evening and got a bit carried away. I could barely stand to be in the same room with any alcohol by the time Thanksgiving dinner rolled around. Lesson (re)learned.

Thanksgiving here was very ably accompanied by a 2009 Navarro Mendocino Pinot Noir, a 2011 Handley Gewurztraminer and a Rogue Voodoo Doughnut beer!!! Hope everyone had great meals, great company and safe travels.

Just returned from visiting family in chilly Minnesota. Proof that they are not really wine drinkers was that for 15 adults, we went through 2 1/2 bottles. We opened a 2007 Arcadian Sleepy Hollow Vineyard Chardonnay, 2007 Paul Autard Cote Ronde Chateauneuf du Pape, and 2008 Scherrer Old and Mature Vines Zinfandel.

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.
