WTN: 1992 Dom Perignon

What an elegant and finely balanced wine! My research shows that this year's cuvee is composed of 60% Chardonnay to 40% Pinot, and it definitely tastes "blonde". This is the second time I've had the 1992 and this bottle was just as lovely and delicate with perhaps a bit more of a peachy tone. Not a ton of depth but a graceful wine considering the vintage. I've always had great experiences with Dom Perignon and actually think the wine is lovingly crafted and silky considering the number of bottles put out. Granted, whether one wants to pay $100 for the pleasure of tasting this caressing nectar is up to the buyer. But, for me, it remains a delicious jewel in the world of Champagne.
