2010 Domaine de la Pépière (Marc Ollivier) Muscadet de Sèvre-et-Maine Sur Lie
12% abv. This was a wonderfully expressive bottle: leesy, citric but instead of neutral it was aromatic for the grape and slightly reminiscent of Riesling. Dry, fresh, saline/acid finish. It does what it says on the tin. Lovely.

2011 Viñedos Bernabeleva Vinos de Madrid Camino de Navaherreros
14,5% abv; Garnacha. Very primary and a bit reductive so I decanted five hours - and that seems to have done the trick. This is actually a rather attractive wine though I am a bit of a Grenache skeptic. It has nice herbaceous strawberry fruit; ripe but not overdone; it only sees big, old barrels so there is no oak interference. Full bodied but delightfully tannic without being over-extracted - so it's fresh and structured instead of just sweet and fruity. Nice!

2010 Azienda Agricola Montesecondo Chianti Classico
13% abv; biodynamic. This seemed like a really nice, unforced and unmanipulated Chianti: cherry and earth aromas but a bit closed and inexpressive. Good crunch and acidity but also quite full body. Very young, but it seems very promising.
I don't drink wine because of religious reasons ... only for other reasons.
