WTN: 2007 Domestic Pinot Noirs - one delicious, one not so

by David M. Bueker » Mon Feb 25, 2013 11:07 am

Opened two Pinot Noirs last night.

Started with the 2007 St. Innocent Pinot Noir Justice Vineyard that had so many green and even moldy aromas and flavors that I wrote it off as corked. Not really sure that's what it was, but the wine was a train wreck.

The I opened the 2007 Alesia Pinot Noir Green Valley that was simply delicious. It showed a lot of very primary fruit, but also an earthy bass note that really fleshed out the wine. Loved this.

Cool, since I see I have 1 more 2007 Alesia Green Valley. I had my first bottle 2 years ago and thought it was delicious then.
I might just open one this weekend.
