I poured the last glass or two of wine into a bowl, stuffed in a yard or so of polyethylene cling film, and swished the whole mess around, then let it sit for a couple of minutes, then decanted it. That did the trick. No more TCA aromas or flavors. What was left was underperforming compared to previous bottles of 2007 Rodney Strong pinot noir reserve that I've opened. That's not surprising, given what the wine had been through. But it was drinkable.

So the key seems to be really making sure that the wine gets good contact with the film by using a wide container and stirring the wine.
