2001 La Rioja Alta Rioja Viña Alberdi Selección Especial - Spain, La Rioja, La Rioja Alta, Rioja (10/5/2014)Pleasant, lightweight and easy drinking. Pretty rose and dusty earth aromas, with a backdrop of dried cherries. I would have preferred just a touch more concentration, as the finish really tailed off. Still a nice wine though.

I have somewhat liked the Alberdi Reserva in other vintages, Seleccion Especial has no Reserva or GR status?
The Alberdi Reserva always seemed to be striving for a middleground in the modern/tradtion matrix.

Didn't see any designation on the label.
