WTN: Columbia Crest Shiraz 2002

by Bruce Hayes » Fri Dec 22, 2006 7:46 pm

Columbia Valley.

Spicy, jammy nose.

Quite fleshy and a little sweet strawberry and cherry fruit, spicy, red licorice, with a nice little tang.

Fairly simple, but still quite enjoyable. I think this would fall into the "crowd pleaser" category to which some wine critics refer.

Not bad at all. It pleased me!!

They make two Columbia Valley wines, Two Vines and Grand Estates -- which was it?

Just checking without biasing you -- I like the less expensive Two Vines over the more expensive Grand Estates which has too much oak and drying tannins. Good pick for an inexpensive quaff.
