2006 Chateau Montelena Cabernet Sauvignon The Montelena Estate - USA, California, Napa Valley (12/15/2015)
From 375ml, and this is quite tight and tannic. I am not all that surprised, but other recent vintages (e.g. 2004, 2005) have not been quite so unyielding in this format. Regardless, it does pair well with a steak, as the meat takes the tannins and allow the fruit to compete for space. Overall my advice is wait, and wait a long time, especially if in full bottle format. This is a classic, stern Cabernet.

Thanks for the TN. I have some 750 ml bottles of the 2006 and now I know to keep my hands off them for a while.
