I'm planning a dinner party with a Lobster Cioppino as one course. Does anyone have any great wine matches to suggest?? What do you all think of serving a Rose Champagne (fruity, etc.)??

I like the idea of the rose Champagne if the Cioppino is not too peppery/spicy.

Bob, can you give us a more detailed idea of the recipe? How much tomato, etc?

Lots of Tomatoes (16 cups), 8 cups of Lobster stock and clam broth, 2 cups of Reisling, 2 tsp each of oregano and red pepper flakes, garlic, onions, scallions, fennel, green pepper. Hope that helps.

Sounds to me like riesling ought to be good alongside this as well as in it (although the champagne sounds good, too).
