WTN: You know you're a Redneck 101

by David M. Bueker » Mon Sep 26, 2016 8:16 pm

2005 Edmunds St. John Redneck 101 Eaglepoint Ranch - USA, California, North Coast, Mendocino County (9/26/2016)
Five years on since my last bottle, and this is moving forward as ESJ blends always seem to do. It is still showing dark fruit, but also a very savory and creamy core that is similar to maturing Rocks & Gravel and earlier ESJ blends. The richness and depth is spot on for further development, and so with 2 more bottles I will wait a while before having more.

What is the blend? Thought I knew all of the ESJ wines (at least post-2000)

It's Grenache and Syrah from Eaglepoint Ranch, equal parts, Dale. Named for the guy who farmed it, who is more thoughtful than the name might suggest, but likes to think of himself as a redneck, first and foremost.
