Just back from lunch today and had a lovely Pinot Nero from Suedtirol - Alto Adige DOC Blauburgunder Pinot Nero 2004 Kellerei Kaltern; lovely clear ruby to garnet color, cherry spice and earth, mushrooms, elegant, white pepper finish. Was deeeeeeelish with my tonarelli with fresh porcini mushrooms and asparagus!

Keep it up, Paulo, and I'll have to get a divorce and leave this sorry country...

In fact, I am scheduled to be in Piemonte next October. Until then, the closest I'll be to Italia this year is in NYC, at a tasting.
