WTN: Admirable Consistency

by David M. Bueker » Mon Feb 27, 2017 9:10 pm

In 2015 I wrote a note on this wine. Last night I had another bottle, and the exact same thoughts sprang to mind. Gotta love consistency.

So for last night's bottle here's the original note. It stands unchanged,

2013 Domaine Bertheau (Pierre et François) Bourgogne - France, Burgundy, Bourgogne (11/5/2015)
Light, very perfumed, and full of cranberry and strawberry fruit, this is a Bourgogne that is elegant and refreshing. It captures the spirit of what a Bourgogne should be - a wine for uncomplicated drinking while waiting for the more exalted wines to mature - while still having an identity of its own. I am particularly enamored of the weightless palate presence that conveys more than ample flavor, right through the red fruit and orange peel finish.
