WTN: My second great tasting this weekend! Joseph Swan!

Joseph Swan. This is Rod's 30th anniversary making wine!

Real quick notes (did not write anything down)

What a lovely lineup. The Chardonnays are all in a richer style than I generally prefer, but there is a balance here and a sheer deliciousness to the fruit that I enjoyed all three sips!

The Swan pinots. I am now understanding why people rave about Swan Pinots. All three current releases (2013 and 2012) had that sheer beauty of fruit balanced with amazing acid and savory elements. All of the Swan wines just have lovely flavor-rich, but with definitely enough acid.

A characteristic shared with the Swan Zinfandels. Last time was Mancini Ranch. Low in alcohol but a blazing kick of berry fruit. Ranks up with Dashe and Broc on my list of zinfandel favorites!

Finally, the 2010 Syrah was another lovely wine. Rich and earthy and meaty.

I cannot understand why I neglected Swan for so long!
