So far for this experience, I have purchased.

Conde de Valdemar Crianza 02 tempranillo Rioja

Chateau Prieure-Lichine Margaux 99

2003 Domaine de Beaurenard Chateauneuf du Pape

2003 Roger Sabon Chateauneuf du Pape Prestige

and an Italian Barbera I forgot to write the name down before I put in the cellar.

Good choices, Rod. I'm impressed that you're going to this much trouble to try to see wine from the other side.

Prieurie Lichine is a good source for an interesting "red fruit" Bordeaux. Delicious!~

Re: The One European Red Wine Conde de Valdemar Crianza 02 tempranillo Rioja

Conde de Valdemar Crianza 02 tempranillo Rioja $10 13% alc.

This could be a Californian wine. It is very low acid, but finishes with a hint of brett. It has dark cherry fruit and cherry acid. The aroma is wine and brett. Slight tannin feel on tongue. I has a good balance of acid and sweetness. I am not saying it is sweet.
