Luisa RibollaGialla IGT: VeneziaGiulia (13%; ViasImpts) Luisa Eddi e Figli/Mariano del Friuli 2014: Med.light yellow color; strong Ribolla/white pepper/grapefruity/lemony some stony/mineral/earthy slight dried oregano pleasant nose; rather tart/lean/grapefruity some RG/white pepper/lemony light stony/earthy slight spritz flavor; med. tart/tangy/grapefruity light stony/earthy some white pepper/RG/lemony slight spritz finish; a pleasant enough RG but just that. $19.00 (KK)

2. deBergerie l'Hortus Classique IGP: Pays du Val de Montferrand/PicStLoup (13%; EricSolomonSlctn; PetiteManseng/Bourboulenc/SauvGris/SauvBlanc/Roussanne/Viognier/Chard) 2010: Med.dark gold/burnished bronze color; strong earthy/graham cracker some nutty/oldRhoneWhite/spicy/toasted hazelnuts slight oxidative rather complex nose; soft some earthy/graham cracker/nutty/toasted hazelnuts bit toasty/oak honeyed/honeycomb flavor w/ bit of aged/oxidative character; very long soft/fat ripe/tropical fruit/honeyed some aged/toasted hazelnuts rather aged/oxidative finish like an old Viognier; definitely aged but in a rather interesting way; bit too soft/porky on the palate. $18.00 (KK)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Although there was no "pop" when I uncorked the wine, the sure sign of a white that's been "refreshed" w/ CO2; there were a few tiny bubbles in the bottom of the glass and a slight prickle on the tongue. The acidity was that ersatz acidity that comes from CO2-refreshed whites. Clearly some nefarious/unspeakable things had been done to the wine w/ CO2.
